CardsIQ Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how CardsIQ, LLC (“CardsIQ,” “we,” or “our”)—a Florida limited liability company headquartered in Miami, Florida—collects, uses, shares, and safeguards personal information when you use our services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal and technical information:

  • Personal Information: Full name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping address.
  • Identity and Compliance Data (KYC): Government ID details, date of birth, facial or liveness checks, sanctions screening results, and information required for identity verification and compliance (collected via Persona).
  • Tax Identification (W-9 Data): Legal name, address, SSN or EIN, business classification, and other taxpayer information needed to satisfy U.S. tax reporting obligations.
  • Payout and Financial Data: Bank or debit details, payout account identifiers for supported providers, and limited metadata (e.g., last four and tokenized references) returned by payment or payout services.
  • Account and Transaction Data: Login credentials, authentication logs, device and session metadata, marketplace submissions, order status, verification results, and payout history.
  • Images and Content You Provide: Photos of slabs and other images you send us (including photos emailed to claims@cardsiq.io in connection with shipping or damage claims), CSV uploads, descriptions, and other materials needed to process verification, offers, and claims.
  • Support and Communications: Help Center tickets, in-app chat messages, email correspondence (including emails sent to support@cardsiq.io, legal@cardsiq.io, and claims@cardsiq.io), and related attachments.
  • Usage and Device Data: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referral URLs, pages viewed, interactions, and approximate location derived from your device or IP.
  • Cookies and Similar Technologies: Information collected via cookies, pixels, SDKs, and local storage to support authentication, preferences, analytics, and fraud prevention.
  • Third-Party Information: Data from service providers that help us verify identity, prevent fraud, process payouts, ship and insure packages, evaluate and manage claims, and provide analytics or hosting.

Providing certain information is required to use features like identity verification, shipping, payouts, and tax reporting. If you do not provide requested data, some services may be unavailable.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To operate the platform, create and manage your account, and provide marketplace and value-guaranteed services.
  • To process card submissions, verification, offers, payouts, shipping, returns, and any claims you submit (including evaluation of photos and documentation sent to claims@cardsiq.io).
  • To authenticate identity, perform KYC and AML checks (via Persona), and comply with legal obligations.
  • To comply with U.S. tax reporting requirements, including collecting W-9 data and facilitating delivery of Forms 1099 by our payment partners.
  • To prevent, detect, and investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
  • To provide Help Center support, resolve disputes, and communicate about your account and orders.
  • To improve reliability, performance, and user experience, including testing, analytics, and product development.
  • To send service notices and policy updates; with your consent or as permitted by law, to send marketing communications.

1099 Delivery: For payouts issued through Stripe, Stripe will generate and furnish the applicable Form 1099 on behalf of your connected account and may make it available in Stripe’s tax portal. For payouts issued through PayPal or Venmo, PayPal and Venmo will generate and furnish Forms 1099 directly in your respective PayPal and Venmo accounts. CardsIQ may surface links or copies in your CardsIQ profile under “Tax Documents” when available.

Consent to e-delivery and outreach: By using CardsIQ, you consent to electronic delivery of tax forms and to pre-filing outreach from CardsIQ and our payment partners to confirm or correct tax information. Failure to respond may delay payouts or delivery of forms.

CardsIQ does not sell your personal information.

3. Sharing of Information

We share data with trusted service providers that enable us to operate CardsIQ. These providers may only use your information to perform services for us and must protect it:

  • Payment and payout services (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Venmo) that move funds to your bank, debit card, PayPal, Venmo, or similar methods and, where applicable, generate and furnish Forms 1099 for payouts they process.
  • Identity verification and fraud-prevention providers (e.g., Persona) that help us satisfy KYC, AML, sanctions, and risk requirements.
  • Shipping, logistics, and insurance partners that help us label, transport, and insure packages and manage claims using information you provide (including claim-related photos and documentation).
  • Hosting, cloud, content delivery, logging, and security providers that keep our services available and secure.
  • Analytics and communication tools that support product measurement and Help Center ticketed chat.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of CardsIQ, our users, or others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or corporate reorganization.

4. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to authenticate users, remember preferences, measure usage, and prevent fraud. You can manage certain cookie settings in your browser or device. Some features may not function correctly if cookies are disabled.

5. Data Security

We employ technical and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit, restricted access, network segmentation, logging, and ongoing monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If we discover a security incident affecting your information, we will notify you consistent with applicable law.

6. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of your information, subject to legal or contractual obligations (including records we must keep for tax, anti-fraud, and accounting purposes).
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Opt out of marketing emails by using unsubscribe links or contacting us.

To exercise your rights, contact privacy@cardsiq.io. We may need to verify your identity. If we deny a request, you may have the right to appeal by replying to our response and noting “Privacy Appeal.”

7. Children’s Privacy

CardsIQ is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that such information has been collected, we will delete it promptly.

8. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Certain records—such as KYC and tax information (W-9, 1099-related data)—are retained for the period required by applicable financial and tax regulations. When no longer required, we will delete or de-identify information in a reasonable timeframe.

9. International Transfers

We may process and store information in the United States and other countries where our providers operate. By using CardsIQ, you understand that your data may be transferred to jurisdictions that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home country. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10. Automated Decision-Making and Profiling

We use automated systems to help price offers, detect fraud, and route payouts. These systems may use data such as identity verification results, transaction history, device information, and usage patterns. You can contact us to request more information about automated processing that has legal or similarly significant effects where required by law.

11. Tax Documents in Your Account

Where applicable, Forms 1099 related to your activity will be made available as follows: for Stripe-issued payouts, Stripe will generate and furnish the applicable Form 1099 and may make it available in Stripe’s tax portal; for PayPal or Venmo payouts, PayPal and Venmo will generate and furnish Forms 1099 within your respective PayPal and Venmo accounts. CardsIQ may surface links or copies in your CardsIQ profile under “Tax Documents” when available.

12. Third-Party Services and Links

CardsIQ is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by third-party grading companies, marketplaces, manufacturers, brands, or distribution platforms unless expressly stated in writing. Our services may link to third-party sites or tools that are governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties.
