Insurance and Risk Disclosure
This disclosure explains when coverage may apply, what steps are required for eligibility, and how CardsIQ handles risk during shipments and verification. Read carefully before shipping or accepting an offer.
1. Purpose and Scope
This Insurance and Risk Disclosure explains when coverage may apply during shipments and transactions on CardsIQ. It describes responsibilities, eligibility, protection windows, and claim requirements. This page is a summary for convenience and is not an insurance policy or legal advice. If a conflict exists, the insurer's terms and the applicable carrier rules will control.
By using CardsIQ, you agree to follow these requirements and any additional instructions shown at the time of your order.
2. Parties and Roles
- CardsIQ is a marketplace and service facilitator. CardsIQ is not an insurance company.
- Coverage, when available, is provided by an independent insurance partner or carrier. The insurer is responsible for claim decisions.
- Shipping is fulfilled by the designated carrier. Carrier rules and limits may apply.
Any reference to coverage in this document means coverage available through the insurer. CardsIQ does not guarantee coverage outcomes or timelines.
3. When Coverage May Apply
- Marketplace Sales that use a CardsIQ prepaid label and complete the required photo precheck before the first carrier scan.
- Value Guaranteed Transactions that require shipment and use a CardsIQ prepaid label within the stated protection window.
- Orders that follow all packing, labeling, timing, and documentation requirements shown in the order portal.
If you do not follow the required steps, shipment is at your own risk and claims through CardsIQ will not be available.
4. Protection Windows
Some transactions include a time bound value protection window. During this window your payout is protected from price decreases based on verified market data, and you may receive upside if verified market value rises.
- For Marketplace Sales, the protection window generally covers the period from acceptance through carrier delivery and intake verification.
- For Value Guaranteed Transactions that require shipment, protection applies if the card is shipped using a CardsIQ prepaid label within the stated timeframe.
- If verified market value rises during the window, CardsIQ will honor the highest verified value observed in that window. If verified market value falls, your payout will not go below the protected amount for that period.
Exact windows and values are shown in your order details and may vary by transaction.
5. Shipping Requirements
- Use only the CardsIQ prepaid label unless CardsIQ provides written approval to use a different label.
- Ship before the label or window expires. Late shipments may not be covered.
- Drop off the package with the carrier and retain proof of acceptance.
- Do not alter declared content, value, or address on the label.
Using a non CardsIQ label or failing to follow instructions places all shipping risk on the user.
6. Photo Precheck Requirement
- Before the first carrier scan, upload clear photos of the slab front and back for every item in the order portal.
- Photos must show the certification number and the full slab surface.
- If photos are not uploaded before the first scan, claims through CardsIQ will not be available.
Photo precheck links the exact items to your label and is required for claims and value protection.
7. Packing Standards
- Use a new box that is sized for the contents with proper cushioning.
- Protect each slab from friction and impact. Do not allow items to move inside the box.
- Seal all seams with strong shipping tape. Remove old labels or barcodes.
- Include the packing slip if provided in the order portal.
Inadequate packing or a reused damaged box can void coverage. Follow any carrier specific rules for fragile items.
8. Coverage Limitations and Exclusions
- Coverage is unavailable when users ship with a non CardsIQ label without approval.
- Coverage is unavailable if photo precheck is missing or incomplete before the first carrier scan.
- Coverage does not apply to counterfeit, altered, tampered, or misrepresented items.
- Coverage may be denied for prohibited contents or violation of carrier rules.
- Coverage does not apply to ordinary wear, cosmetic issues, or pre existing damage.
The insurer may require additional documentation and may deny claims that do not meet policy conditions.
9. Verification and Adjustments
- All inbound items are subject to intake and verification for authenticity, grade, and certification number.
- If an item differs from what was accepted, CardsIQ may recalculate the offer, partially approve items that pass, or reject items that fail.
- Rejected items may be returned. Return shipping may be charged if misrepresentation is found.
Verification outcomes are posted in your order timeline.
10. Making a Claim
- Report any transit issue in the order portal as soon as you become aware of it.
- Provide all required documentation, including photo precheck images, drop off proof, tracking history, and packing proof.
- Respond promptly to information requests from the insurer or carrier.
- Do not discard packaging until the claim is fully resolved.
The insurer is responsible for claim decisions and timelines. CardsIQ will assist with submission but does not control outcomes.
11. Limits of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, CardsIQ is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from shipment or use of the service. Aggregate liability is limited to the amount paid to you in your most recent completed transaction unless a different limit is required by law.
12. International Shipments
- International shipments may have reduced coverage or added restrictions.
- Customs declarations must be accurate and complete.
- Any duties, taxes, or delays at customs are the responsibility of the sender or recipient as applicable.
Check the order portal for availability of international labels and any special rules before you ship.
13. Fraud and Misuse
- Submitting false claims or altered documentation will result in denial and may lead to account suspension.
- Shill bidding, fake comps, or any attempt to manipulate valuation will result in recalculation or rejection.
- CardsIQ may freeze payouts during fraud review or when required by law.
Fraud reviews and compliance checks protect the CardsIQ community and our partners.
